Uniqueness and Regularity of Conservative Solution to a Wave System Modeling Nematic Liquid Crystal
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, a system of wave equations modeling nematic liquid crystal is considered. The solution of this system in general has gradient blowup. The global-in-time existence of Hölder continuous energy conservative solution for the initial value problem was proved in [13] by the second author, P. Zhang & Y. Zheng. In this paper, we prove the uniqueness and generic regularity of energy conservative solution.

The Generalized Wave Model Representation of Singular 2-D Systems
M. and M. Abstract: Existence and uniqueness of solution for singular 2-D systems depends on regularity condition. Simple regularity implies regularity and under this assumption, the generalized wave model (GWM) is introduced to cast singular 2-D system of equations as a family of non-singular 1-D models with variable structure. These index dependent models, along with a set of boundary co...
متن کاملNonlinear Schrodinger Equation in Nematic Liquid Crystals
We derive the amplitude equation, in the weakly nonlinear regime, for an optical wave packet that propagates in an initially undistorted nematic liquid crystal. By using the dyad representation Q i j , we find the retarded and nonlocal equation for the nematic configuration and solve it in Fourier space. This allows us to calculate the amplitude dependent dispersion relation for a nematic liqui...
متن کاملGlobal Strong Solutions of the Full Navier-Stokes and Q-Tensor System for Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows in Two Dimensions
We consider a full Navier–Stokes and Q-tensor system for incompressible liquid crystal flows of nematic type. In the two dimensional periodic case, we prove the existence and uniqueness of global strong solutions that are uniformly bounded in time. This result is obtained without any smallness assumption on the physical parameter ξ that measures the ratio between tumbling and aligning effects o...
متن کاملWeak Time Regularity and Uniqueness for a Q-Tensor Model
The coupled Navier-Stokes and Q-Tensor system is one of the models used to describe the behavior of the nematic liquid crystals. The existence of weak solutions and a uniqueness criteria have been already studied (see [11] for a Cauchy problem in the whole R3 and [7] for a initial-boundary problem in a bounded domain Ω). Nevertheless, results on strong regularity have only been treated in [11] ...
متن کاملRegularity of Solutions to 3-d Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows
In this note we consider the regularity of solutions to 3-D nematic liquid crystal flows, we prove that if either u ∈ Lq(0, T ;Lp(R3)), 2 q + 3 p ≤ 1, 3 < p ≤ ∞; or u ∈ Lα(0, T ;Lβ(R3)), 2 α + 3 β ≤ 2, 3 2 < β ≤ ∞, then the solution (u, d) is regular on (0, T ].
